The Legacy of a Master Luthier

Hermann Hauser and the Hauser family have played a defining role in shaping the sound and form of modern classical guitars. Spanning multiple generations of master luthiers, the family’s guitars have been played by legendary musicians like Andrés Segovia, Julian Bream, and John Williams.

Hermann Hauser I (1882–1952)

He revolutionized guitar design by blending German precision with the influence of Spanish guitar makers like Antonio de Torres. His collaboration with Andrés Segovia in the 1920s and 1930s set the standard for the modern concert guitar.

Hermann Hauser II (1911–1988) and Hermann Hauser III (b. 1958)

They continued the family tradition, crafting guitars that became the gold standard for musicians worldwide. Their work reflects a commitment to innovation while honoring the legacy of their predecessors.
